We follow the footsteps of Marisa Padrón, the leading actor in La hija del Mestre, the second full-length film produced in the Canary Islands and a huge success the year it was released, 1928. After several years being linked to the sociocultural life of Gran Canaria, she shut herself away in the post-war period. Through unique archive material, the documentary also explores female painters, writers and editors of a journal that annihilated, in a silent revolution, the narrow space assigned to women on the island.

MACU MACHÍN. A graduate in Audiovisual Communication, she earned a diploma in film direction in Madrid, in scriptwriting in the EICTV (Cuba) and a master’s degree in documentary film at the University of Film (Buenos Aires). She is the director, producer, editor and scriptwriter of works such as Quemar las naves, El mar inmóvil and El imperio de la luz. At present she is finishing La hojarasca, her second full-length film as director and scriptwriter.
