THE PENULTIMATE STRUGGLE

Venezuela / Spanish

Direction: Maite Bermudez

Production: Félix Salgado

Company: VraiVrai Films

How many lives can one man have? Can you tell the story of a country through the life of one man? My father Arsenio Bermúdez, a 76-year-old Venezuelan, has been marked by strong political activism. He finds the land means of physical and emotional survival that reconnects him with his African roots.

Maite Bermudez – Afro-venezuelan filmmaker. My films and installations cross-pollinate between fiction, documentary, contemporary art and dance. My artistic narrative is constructed around the body and its memories. I have been working in the cinema field as a screenwriter, director, producer and professor.
