San Borondón is a mythical island that appears and disappears. It has appeared on maps throughout history in the vicinity of the Canary Islands. After centuries of oblivion, it has finally been found.
HELENA GIRÓN, SAMUEL DELGADO. Their work probes the relationships between mythology, history, and materialism. Their first feature, They Carry Death (2021), received awards in Venice and San Sebastián. Their previous shorts have been screened in places like Toronto, Locarno, and New York, to name a few. They’ve staged installations and performances at art centers such as CCCB (Barcelona), BAM (New York), TEA (Tenerife) and Solar (Vila do Conde).
