EDOC – Encuentros del Otro Cine – is a non-competitive international documentary film festival that has been held since 2002 in Ecuador. Since its inception, EDOC has become one of the most relevant and constant documentary film events in the region. EDOC is organized by the Cinememoria Corporation, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting documentary filmmaking and the conservation of Ecuador’s audiovisual heritage.
During this time EDOC has screened thousands of films of broad horizons aimed at diverse audiences, bringing together in each edition international guests and local filmmakers, in an annual event in which we always hope to discover those conscious and sensitive looks on the real characteristic of auteur documentary cinema.
