BASES
1. The right of registration is free of charge. The registration must be formalised by filling in the electronic registration form of the official web page of the Festival www.miradasdoc.com. The registration form which does not satisfy these regulations will be automatically eliminated from COMPETITION.
The work will be personally handed over at the general registry of entry of the Guía de Isora local authority or alternatively by mail and the following must be clearly indicated: Miradas-Doc Festival Internacional de Documentales del Sur. Address:

2. The final date for admission of films will be: 13th June 2008, the date on the franked envelope, with no exceptions.
3. The production of the films must be subsequent to 1st January 2007.
4. Each participant may present one or more documentaries. Each documentary must be presented for only one of the following Competitions and categories:
COMPETITION International: Best Documentary, Best Documentary Short and Best First Work.
COMPETITION National: Best Documentary on Social Topics.
COMPETITION Canaries: Best Documentary.
5. The festival demands as the minimum quality of projection format, the DV-Cam or Betacam format.
6. The competitors must send, for pre-selection, a copy in DVD PAL format. They must be labelled, specifying the category for which they are being presented, the name of the documentary, director and e-mail.
7. The panel of judges will be made up of well-known personalities from the audiovisual world and the world of culture.
8. The members of the panel of judges may not compete as filmmaker, director or producer.
9. The totality of the participating works, whether selected or otherwise, will form part of the documentary archive of the Festival (DVD), which will not under any circumstances by used with commercial purposes by the organisation.
10. The documentaries presented for the COMPETITION may be selected for the Screening of MIRADAS-DOC Market, with prior indication by the interested party on the admission form for the Festival.
11. In order to participate in the First Work Prize, the film should be the filmmaker’s first full-length documentary or documentary short.
12. The documentaries presented may be shorts. Shorts are those documentaries which do not exceed 30 minutes’ duration.
